A set is a progression, not a single letter
A golf club set builder for clubmakers is a table: club, length, total weight, balance, swingweight, status. Next to it, line charts for length, mass, and SW, plus silhouettes so a long 7-iron is obvious. Outlier detection is a regression against the clubs you actually own or model — not a lecture that every iron should be D2.
You may choose a flat swingweight target, a custom step (for example +0.2 point per club), or “reference existing,” which fits your current data. When the 7-iron sits 1.1 points above that trend, the row warns, and Open in Build Bench loads that club into the Lab with the what-if and reverse solver ready. That loop — measure set, spot the stranger, repair on the bench — is the product.
Mixed provenance is allowed
Some wedges are scale-measured. Some mid-irons are still a bill of materials. The table badges each row. Charts still run, but you should not panic over a MODELLED 6-iron disagreeing with a MEASURED 7-iron until both have met a scale.
Export CSV for a shop spreadsheet. Export JSON for the whole project. Print a white workshop sheet beside the epoxy pots. First version keeps inventory local: how many MCC grips are in the drawer, not an e-commerce stock system.

Do you tell me the best swingweight?
No. You pick flat, custom, or your own clubs as the reference.
Can I import a set?
JSON project import, plus CSV export of the set table. There is no manufacturer database to download.
What about hybrids?
Add a custom slot or a wood-like 5W chassis and rename it in the project notes.
