Change is a torque delta

A swing weight change calculator is just the first-moment engine run backwards. The difference between two Lorythmic letters is a known ounce-inch gap. Add mass where the lever is long (near the head) and you need fewer grams. Add mass behind the fulcrum (under the grip cap, butt weight, extension) and you subtract swingweight. Change playing length and you move almost every distal station at once.

This page lets you tick which variables are legal for the job: head weight, butt weight, length. It does not secretly tip-trim a shaft to “optimize launch.” Tip trim stays a manufacturer specification you confirm in the Lab. Length changes here are playing-length changes, which imply a butt cut in a real build — still your cut list.

Why several options beat one magic gram number

There is rarely a unique solution. Plus 3.2 g near the head, minus 7.5 g near the grip, or a mix with +0.125" of length can all print near D2. The solver ranks by a simple cost (grams plus a length penalty) so the smallest intervention shows up first. All of them are labelled as modelled planning estimates.

FAQ

Will epoxy and ferrules show up?

Only if you put them in the Lab component stack. This quick page uses a generic 7-iron model as the planning chassis.

Can I lock length?

Yes. Untick club length and the solver will only use mass at the head and/or butt.

Is shortening half an inch always about two points?

Often in the ballpark for irons, but the Lab recomputes from component stations rather than a slogan.
